for all the migraine sufferers out there I am now 62 and suffered since I was 14.
Recommended by a chemist assistant who could not sell me migralieve in the absence of the Chemist One big slug of Woodwards gripe water. Gone in less than 20 mins. My GP refers this to other sufferers
My hypothyroidism was diagnosed following a visual migraine that they first thought was a TIA.
I had a headache around lunch time. My bad heads often become or are migranes. 2 slugs of grip water (weird taste). Realised at tea time that the headache had been gone for some hours and had not turned really nasty. Thankyou Meki I will continue to use and observe.
Slight headache now after lots of computer work and telephone calls so shall have another slug before bed.
Hi all, this is a revelation! My migraines started about a year after I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism, about 12 years ago, and I have never connected the two before. I now take sumatriptan for the headaches and they work a treat. As many others on this forum have mentioned, thyroxine helps but has never completely made me feel "normal". I will be looking into getting alternative medication from my GP, if he or she will prescribe it, which seems unlikely, but I will inquire just in case.
