Is there such a person? Everyone I look at seems to have a very specific specialisation, I can't find someone who is a gynaecologist with some decent knowledge of the thyroid/endocrine system/hormones? Is that asking for too much? Can't really afford to pay out for two specialists 8-( We already saw one private gynaecologist who was pretty much useless so we'd much rather see someone who is recommended (by PM obviously!)

The link that Shaws has posted above says pretty much what I was going to say. Which is that there is a very strong probability that whatever Edysia is currently dealing with in the way of gynae problems, may well be sorted out with the appropriate levels of thyroid hormone. Bear in mind that when thyroid hormone is wonky, it affects all the other hormone levels too.
The fact is, lack of thyroid hormone affects absolutely everything that happens in our brain and body. I don't believe there is one thing that is not affected to some extent. I saw specialists in the early days of this illness, both privately and through GP referral. None of them could help though, because (although I didn't know it at the time), everything was down to thyroid hormone imbalance.
If at all possible, save your money and wait it out until Edysia is on a sensible dose of medication and it has had sufficient time to start the healing and repair work that needs to be done. Even now, several years down the line from first starting treatment, I am amazed at how much effect even a small change in thyroid levels can have on my body and brain.
