Yes I did, but I was twitchyer before I had half a thyroid out, and really cold shakey hands, after research I think this was hyper? (along with body shakes, palpitations & what doc put down to 'anxiety' grr) running on adrenalin feeling?

They gave me roprinole for restless legs (parkinsons drug) read the label - it cautions you against experiencing strong sexual urges and desire to gamble - nearly took a tablet just to test the theory! :)

Now it's just constant ache, especially forearms & calves, tingly hands & feet, bit less tired maybe.

I think what I have is restless arms as well. I find it hard to relax, and I would describe it as a ache almost in my forearms, and I can't sit still. Is that what yours was like? I'm hoping if I get my thyroid back in balance that I will feel better.

yes im hypo been taking levothyroxine for 20 years, a few years ago i was sent to rheology dept at hospital who did a number of test looking for things such as lupus, and i was told i had mild fibromyalgia, the symptoms of which are aching muscule that cramp when you try and relax causing you to keep moving them to relieve the discomfort, amitripaline is about the most precribed drug in the country, originally it was used for depression although you have to take large amonts 60 -70 mg a day before it has any effect, i take 10 mg a couple of hours before bed and now i sleep all night, i still cant get up in the morning, and i am so tired all the time and achy. I am seeing an endo on the 22 nd of this month.

Hi, yes, I have Hashimoto's and started thyroxine last summer. I have had restless legs and arms for donkeys years (RLS restless leg syndrome) which has got a bit better since taking thyroxine. I have decided to start NDT so for about 10 weeks now I have been shovelling down the vit.C, vit D3, Magnesium, Iron, NAX, Nutri Thyroid,Siberian Ginseng, etc. ( I was already taking selenium, Vit.E, zinc etc.) and reading your message today it has suddenly dawned on me that my RLS has completely disappeared and I can't remember having it for at least a month. I suspect that the iron is the biggest help.

Thanks for making me think about it, that's one more improvement I can mark up on the board........Valerie

Glad to hear you have relief from RLS. I too take iron. Are you aware that it is not advised to take supplements at the same time as thyroxine as it can effect the impact of thyroxine. Glad to hear you have noticed an improvement on your symptoms x

What did your restless arms feel like? I wondering if that is what is going on with me. Just had a checkup and my thyroid levels were way off. Wondering if that is part of the problem. I'm just frustrated...can't sleep

It feels like an electric charge buzzing up and down my arms. Thankfully I haven't experienced this in a while. Good luck and sorry for delayed reply.

I've just realised that since starting my meds, I haven't suffered from this. Used to be very irritating of an evening.

Yes Unfortuantely I too have suffered with the restless leg's, but as my meds have been increased they have got a better. As other's have found when your tired it's worse.. When I was under medicated I couldn't sit down in the evenings without it becoming a real urge to move them every few moments.. really dreadful... but much improved now that I'm more balanced on the Meds.. The BAD thing is now that my legs are better I'm itchy all over.. Leg's especially shin's, and forearms.. Inside my ears get itchy and the end of my nose and round my eye's especially if tired... I also get tingly fingers if i'm using the computer or on the phone.. It's just like you have lent on your hand for too long and it's just going to sleep.. I've just seen the GP AGAIN and MORE BLOODS again, test for carple tunnel, which it's NOT as it's only developed since the Levo went up.. So all in all I feel what I've gained on the swings I've lost on the roundabout's... SIGH!!!... any ideas on Vitamins that might help please post... Many thanks Perks.

I was told to take zinc, but that depletes iron, so need more iron also.

Many thanks I will try adding zinc and see what happens can't hurt to try it. The numb like fingers is just plain irritating...... Bloods came back, unfotunately even with Levo increase to 125mcg TSH has gone UP.. I don't know and obviously neither does the QUack!!.
