Hi Vit D is hormonal and very important for lots of things. If it is low ,then you need to take it, ideally from GP. It is only safe to take it if calcium is in range as if this is out of range it is extremely dangerous. Calcium is strongly effected by vit d| If you see an endo they should have tested D, and calcium if needing treatment. For safety reasons it takes that long to reach max in blood for D ) , then increased in this way as needed,

Ted, I value your opinion so may I ask this question....sorry to highjack this link. I had low Vit D3, insufficient. 6 weeks after taking supplements 10,000u daily, I developed tinnitus and there it has stayed! I have looked online and can find no references to this in any toxicity info. I could stop taking it to see if there is a connection but I am so loath to do this as I really need the protection.

Hi Phoebs

Just a pointer, if you want to reply to someone in particular, you have to make sure to click on 'reply to this' otherwise they will not get an email letting them know that you have responded.

You could also send Ted a message - click on his name and then 'Send me a message' :-)
