So you cannot be answered here on the forum regarding where to obtain T3.

I just wanted to query if t3 is prescription only? Just my son told me his friend buys it for weight loss at a gym.

Yes T3 is prescription only in this country and should just be used for the treatment of an under-active thyroid. I believe that body builders like to take it as it can help with weight loss/building muscle - but in my opinion this is highly dangerous. T3 is a very powerful drugand quick acting drug, and over-treatment with it (or taking it when the thyroid is normal) could cause heart problems and very unpleasant hyper symptoms (in the same way that an overdose of thyroxine (T4) could.

If it is being sold in the UK, other than from a pharmacist and with an appropriate prescription, not only is it possibly dangerous, it is illegal.

There can be significant penalties for such supply activities.

And I wouldn't trust anyone who would supply illegally like that sufficiently to take anything they sold to me.
