Has anybody got experience of person with conge... - Thyroid UK
Has anybody got experience of person with congenital hypothyroidism claiming disability living allowance or other benefit?
Do you mean someone born without a thyroid?
I was at school with a girl born without a thyroid but she was absolutely fine, at least she was till I last saw her in 1983 aged 16. She was on Levo and was completely well. She did ten O-levels then A-levels after I left that school, plus she was pretty sporty too.
Is the person you are asking for not doing well on Levo or other thyroid replacement?

DLA - get a professional to help you with the claim, CAB or other disability charity depending on where you live. it is not based on your condition but how it effects you.
you might also look at ESA: employment and support allowance; if you are too ill to work you should claim this, there is a medical at aprox 13 weeks and like most other claimants you may fail it, if you do appeal imeadeatly and again get professional help from cab or local disability charity.
