I had a low cortisol figure a few months back and have been slowly increasing with Nutri Adrenal , but I have been wondering if I should start taking some Aloe Vera Gel, as I took some a few years back when I was struggling with hypothyroid issues and after taking it for a few weeks it really made a difference !
I have done a bit of research and found that other hypothyroid patients have used it, plus hyperthyroid people . But I just want to be sure that it won't have a negative effect on the ADRENAL increasing ?
I would really appreciate any experience you guys have had, as the last thing I would want to do is hinder my progress ? It's a long enough walk as it is !
Thank you !!!!

C70rol, I can't comment usefully about aloe gel and adrenals, except to say use your favourite search engine to check out side effects. I've seen some suggestions that ingesting it regularly is not a good thing.
That said, do be aware that the brand you mention is sold on a pyramid marketing basis (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Multi..., and you may well find other brands available in your supermarket or health shop to be just as good/better.
Thanks for replying RedApple.. But I wouldn't get caught in pyramid selling. I not that gullible! When I took it before (a few years ago now), I only took a small amount, plus I only had it for about 6 months. So I was in control. Plus I happened to know the person who was marketing it,(a friend of a friend), and I know she wouldn't try pushing me into anything!
I did try searching through Google and could find no comments about adrenals and Aloe Vera Gel.
I wouldn't continue with aloe vera gel taken orally. Quote from webmd:
Aloe latex can cause some side effects such as stomach pain and cramps. Long-term use of large amounts of aloe latex might cause diarrhea, kidney problems, blood in the urine, low potassium, muscle weakness, weight loss, and heart disturbances. Taking aloe latex 1 gram daily for several days can be fatal.
Yes,its fabulous for cooling & hydrating dry itchy skin!I buy it in kilo tubs on Ebay.Sometimes I have a dry itchy scalp for a period & I apply it to a wet scalp after washing my hair & leave it on,brushing it out next day(I don't like greasy or oily products)It even seems to help aching feet when applied to the soles.
Thanks Naomi8 ...but I was talking about the Aloe Vera Gel , as a drink . It's often recommended in largish amounts , but I would only take a small amount. I used it once before for three months and it's action was more like a tonic, as it was SO good for the gut, and the immune system and inflamation, and particularly my well being !
I wouldn’t get involved with those pyramid selling brands even as a buyer. I shared a community hall kitchen with them once. They were having a conference. I was staggered by how evangelistic they were. They all thought that they were going to make big money like the Mr Big who turned up in his flash car. He had gone from the dole to being filthy rich they all said. They thought that would happen to them too.
Once you start you’ll never get away from them and they’ll try - even the nicest friend of a friend will turn on the hard sell. You’ll discover that aloe Vera can cure problems you didn’t even know you had. I’d avoid it if I were you.
As for Diogenes - I’d most definitely listen to him and take his advice - he is without doubt a fount of all Thyroid knowledge.
