It's very important to take medication! Don't stop what ever you do.

Carbimozole is used as a thyroid suppressant for "over" active thyroid, and of no use to someone that is hypothyroid.

If you are still tired on 125mcg, then I would say that either the doctor is wrong and your levels arn't fine at all, or you are deficient in something else, which is causing the tiredness.

Dont accept "fine" or "normal" or "within range" from your GP, as what they think is normal usually isnt (not their fault, they've just never been taught how to treat a person with thyroid disease properly). Ask for the actual test figures and the test ranges, someone here will be able to advise you on if they are ok, or could be improved. Everyone is different and most of us need to have a suppressed TSH and T4 at the top of the range to feel better, although some people are fine at other levels.

You should also get your bloods checked for iron, folliates, ferratin, & B12 & vit D if they do it. It could well be a difficency in one of these causing tiredness.

Taking thyroid medicine can be extremely important.

It is important not only to take your medicine, but to take it so that it works properly. That means - at more or less the same time every day. And taking it well away from food, drinks (other than water), supplements and other medicines.

Most people take it first thing in the morning. But others take it at bed-time.

I absolutely agree with Fedupsusie - get your test results. Always get the numbers and the reference ranges and keep them safely. Get tested for iron, folates, B12, vitamin D, vitamin B12.

And carbimazole is for people with OVERACTIVE thyroids - it stops the thyroid making so much hormone.
