carbizamole

i was diagnosed in October with over active thyroid, was given carbizamole to take, i started getting bruises and mouth ulcers so stopped taking them. Went to gp who sent me for blood test and hes sending me for another one on liver in 4weeks time. did anybody else have this problem taking carbizamole.

I had mouth ulcers and really weird bruising plus they really knocked me out but my Endo does not like the PTU although I had been on it before and coped really well.

I got a very itchy skin rash, stopped taking them (as directed by instruction leaflet) and ?? weeks later had to swallow a radioactive tab instead.

I didn't do well on the PUI - my liver was affected. Reducing now the Carbi - and hope to come off soon - blood range ok. It is not the best medicine to take, me thinks....on higher dose I had mouth ulcers.....also problems with headaches, nausea, bruising.

It's a very difficult dilemma....but I hope to be back on a herbal treatment course very soon.

I had a very bad reaction to carbizamole - i didn't get mouth ulcers but got all sorts of other issues so switched to PTU (Propylthiouracil) which is the only other ant-thyroid drug.
