redness in throat

has anyone had any experience of a very red throat. I am underactive and I also have the urge to keep swallowing or feel I have something in my throat that I want to get up.

Are you on treatment for hypo? Have you got your last test results and the ranges in which you were tested? If you could give us this information it will help to get a fuller picture.

I have difficulty swallowing and tightness in my throat, especially after eating, but then I have multi nodular goitres, and on the waiting game to see if they enlarge rapidly.

I refused radioidine as I have saliva glands dysfunction severe dry mouth, the consultant fully understood, because this treatment could inhance it. so i am faced with a risky thyroid removal as I had surgey 20 years ago to remove a begnin tumour or cyst, so to do again with lesions will be difficult. I just keep my fingers crossed it grows very slowly.and levels dont drop or rise.

Back to your post I wonder if your thyroid is enlarged and inflamed, worth getting investigated.

If my thyroid was enlarged would I not feel it at the front of my throat?

Hi Agsen, I have a terrible throat and the swollowing for mine is the same but GP can't find any thing that she can do for me, mine has been bad now for 4 yrs so I hope you get the help you need. Regards wakeham.
