I did not say that my Endo has since added T3 to my T4. I was also suffering badly from insomnia.

I also saw a dermatologist in March privately and had steroid injections into my scalp.

I am pleased to say that my hair now is (more or less) back to normal.

Did your GP refer you to the Dermatologist or can you do this independently?

Hello Imogen, I have been quiet on the boards recently as I am just about to see a specialist 26/8. If you look back my boards are about my hair loss. I have been on Thyroxine for about 12 years but never really felt well. But not as poorly as some of our others members. I have been noticing my hair coming out for about the last two years - going to the Dr's about it (told I had healthy follicles??) and also all the other horrible daily symptoms. Anyway to cut a long story short I was begining to feel that time was starting to run out. I would have to speak privately to save space on these boards but in a nutshell I bit the bullet and decided to pay for private tests so I didn't have to waste anymore time ready for when once I go and see the specialist. The tests have come back and believe it or not I have finally realised why I feel so crappppppp and my hair is coming out I have high levels of Reverse T3, high Thyroid Antibodies, Low TSH (0.009) high Free T4 (21). The conclusion was that I have probable HYPERTHYROIDISM, bearing in mind I have been treated for HYPO for 12 years. Keep pushing Imogen. I am not going to let this go as I almost feel that I have lost a good part of my life and really thought it was ladies problems. My menopause is easy compared with Peri- menopause and I actually think it all went downhill after starting Levothyroxine. The only time that I can rember feeling well was when they corrected my overactive thyroid when I took Carbimazole for a short time. Please try and get more tests done. I actually thought maybe the hairloss and symptoms were not thyroid related but now I feel it must be. There is a lot of other things which assist thyroid and you will have to get yourself well read with info on the net. But what we have to remember is that we are not medical professionals and each one of us is an individual. I will let you know what happens on the 26th but please don't be too tolerant like me. If I am honest I am fuming but... Forever the optimist I hope someone can help me. Love Sunshine

Mines the same all bloods came back within range and doctor told me it was down to menopause im sick of always being fobbed off its a nightmare trying to work out what supplements to take and a waste of money because nothing ever makes much difference for very long ggggrrrrrrrr :) And everytime time I ask for print out of results I get asked what could you possibly need them for !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
