Calcitonin

I am in process of my GP deciding on whether I have Hypercalcemia, as the results are marginal normal, although another two consultants differ in their opinions. I am trying to arm myself with info so that I can ask my GP next week what he advises. Has anyone used the Calcitonin Nasal Spray and if so, have they found it helped? Many thanks

hi

So your calcium levels are high?

How are your kidneys?

Is your PTH in range?

Have they scanned your parathyroids?

sorry you haven’t had a reply in some hours, and to answer with more questions. We do have members with these symptoms in addition to thyroid diagnoses.

I had to have repeats for high calcium ĺand salt which is low, which I had yesterday. Appt with GP on 18th March to discuss. Originally, I went Privately and had a CT scan of neck, chest, chest, abdo but have not had report on the neck but bloods confirmed hypercalcemia. Another more prioritising condition was found. One consultant asked that I seek treatment from GP for hypercalcemia as I feel dreadful. I read today the vitamin supplement I've been taking for 9 years could be the reason for the high calcium in the blood. Everything I am reading is contradictory about vitamin D, it has been confusing!

Apologies, I wrote a long reply but on this site I seem to lose stuff easily. Colecalcferol 800mg.

I walked 3000 steps to surgery for repeats and was exhausted bloods, so will retry my text you you tomorrow as I need bath and bed. Ridiculously earlier but am all in. Thank you
