My GP agreed for me to trial 150mg levothyroxine to see if I could get my TSH under 2mlU/L which is where fertility want it to be. I had a blood test yesterday and my results have come through today:
TSH 1.23mlU/L (normal range 0.55 to 4.78)
T4 20.3.pmol/L (normal range 11.5 to 22.7)
My T3 wasn't tested. The test was done at 8.40am and I hadn't eaten since the night before and hadn't taken levothyroxine since the previous morning.
I don't know a lot about T4 - does it matter that its the top end of the range? Is there anything I should bring up with my GP?

Ideally you need to get FULL thyroid and vitamin testing
Looking at previous posts you have Hashimoto’s
Exactly what vitamin supplements are you taking
Which brand of Levo are you taking
Do you always get same brand
Are you on gluten free diet and/or dairy free diet
Obviously vitamin levels are especially important pre TTC
You don’t want B12 or folate too low or too high
Recommended that all thyroid blood tests early morning, ideally just before 9am, only drink water between waking and test and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test
This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip)
Private tests are available as NHS currently rarely tests Ft3 or all relevant vitamins
