I'm reading "Why do I still have thyroid symptoms" by Datis Kharrazian. I want to find out why I have hashi's and wish to address my autoimmune issues. I would rather use diet and lifestyle to feel well rather than medication if that's possible. He mentions the importance of testing TH1/TH2 dominance. Has anyone had experience of this and could recommend a UK test ?

TH1/TH2 Dominance Test
Hi,
I had this test done at the beginning of my hashimotos journey I’m 2021 when I was looking for root causes to get in into remission. I don’t know about tests in UK as although I live here I had several done in US. You need a test that measures the cytokines that are specific to each arm.
For TH1 you need to look at levels of-
IL-2 and IF-y
For TH2 you need to look at levels of -
IL- 4 and IL-10
Then look at the TH1/TH2 ratio.
LucyYoga,
What did you do with the results of those tests?
You knew your TH1/TH2 ratio at one point. Did you get re-tested to find out if it had changed? And could you attribute any changes in the ratio to your choices, your actions, time, or anything else?
It influenced the course of supplementation/treatment to balance TH1 and TH2 plus gave clues to other issues going on beneath and the later discovery of Lyme as a key driver of the autoimmunity and imbalance in the first place. Now that I have ‘fixed’ the root causes- Lyme/coinfections, Mold, reactivated viruses, methylation/COMT issues, gut infections, heavy metals etc etc I am now well and in remission. I got my TPOAb down from nearly 2000 to 0 and I have now come off all thyroid hormone replacement as it turned out that I had sufficient thyroid tissue left (low level laser therapy helped immensely)and I’m thriving and have never felt better. My labs are optimal.
ltimmsie1,
It appears that LucyYoga has left the forum, I'm sorry to say.
I hope it wasn't what I said/asked. I was asking out of interest. We went through a period when TH1/TH2 dominance was being mentioned all the time - to where we are now - almost never.
