Further update re T3

Finally found a local pharmacy to fulfill my prescription for T3(at reasonable cost) plan to start after blood test next week. I left message for my Endo asking for guidance re introducing T3 to my routine. I'd love to hear experiences from here to help with the transition as 10mcg x 2 daily seems a lot & to drop to 50mcg from 125mcg 🤨a bit too drastic.I did think starting at 2.5mcg in a morning but when do I take T4? & I presume the next dose would be in evening 🤔on empty tummy?? Noticed that the GP who gave me a private prescription has put correct dose & I think he expects me to get levo private too but I'll argue that point with him..... Too many hurdles. Tia👍

When I introduced T3 I only dropped 25mcg so agree what they are asking you to drop is far to much as 50mcg is a basic starter dose.

I have not seen your T3 hormone results but would say that if your concerned start on 5mcgs twice daily and retest after 6 weeks. Having said that I started straight on 10mcg twice a day and then went up to 20mcg two months later so it’s whatever yo feel comfortable doing.

You take your T4 with your first dose of T3 in the morning (unless you are taking your T4 at bedtime. Next dose of T3 would be around 6 hours later or when you feel you can fit it in. Some people like it mid afternoon, others will split that dose into two doses and take one earlier and another late afternoon. It’s trial and error and how you feel really. I’ve tried split dosing but am one of those that prefer one hit in the morning, it really does suit me better.
