Being ignored

Hello all, it’s been a while since I’ve posted mainly because I’ve been very well cared for by a combination of an adequate GP and a fabulously supportive Endocrinologist. Trouble is the latter seems to have gone silent. I’m at a loss as to what to do. My T3 script will run out before the end of the year and I cannot seem to get a reply to my emails.

Will I have to jump off the T3&4 combination therapy wagon and try to self source something else? Is Armour the answer?

Grateful for any help.

Have you any idea why Endo has ‘gone silent’ ? Could you ring his secretary?

I will try her tomorrow if she doesn’t get back to my last email before then

If he’d moved or relocated I think your email would have bounced

Could be lots of reasons: sickness, long term leave etc

I guess I’m very lucky that my t3 repeat scripts are managed via my GP practice in a shared care arrangement under supervision of endocrinologist. Maybe when you finally get hold of yours/replacement you could ask for the same. The various hospitals I’m under including cardiac all query my need for it on admission but have not stopped it. I hope that continues and my Xmas wish is that other people get that same support. How best to turn the levers of power.

Some while ago now my Endo and I tried to sort that shared care arrangement but my GP said her hands were tied and in the NHS T3 is effectively a banned substance. Then she wrote "Nature Thyroid" on a post it note and said that's what I might want to go and source for myself but she didn't know anything about it.

Glad to report this morning however that I have heard back from my consultant and a repeat prescription is now sorted.
