I'm a touch confused because you mentioned Teva 25 microgram tablets but not any other make (in the posts I checked).

There is no universal tablet everyone does well on. And, unless you know you cannot tolerate the excipients, I don't think there is any way to predict how well any one individual will do.

Yes I mentioned the 25 mcg teva as I had to have that with 50 mcg of accord . Didn't realise it was teva given to me at the time the Dr has now Increased dosage to 100 yday so it's just one brand accord thanks for looking and answering x

Right - thanks. That makes complete sense.

Many members take Accord and get on fine with it. So it is perfectly possible, indeed likely, you will also be fine.

every increase that I’ve had has caused side effects of some sort. Gradually they go away and each increase will eventually make you better or at least it did me. Hope you get to your correct dose and feel the best you can .

Accord levothyroxine is usually quite well tolerated by many (it is actually the only brand I can tolerate) - it is the TEVA brand that seems to upset a lot of people.

You may still have some Teva levo in your system, that might take some time to get out. Some components have a short half-life, so they clear out of your system within hours or days, some may linger on a bit longer. Give it some time and I am sure you will feel better soon without the TEVA and especially with the increase in medication. If you have been under-medicated, it may also take a while for your levels to come up to a more decent level.

Thank you fir replying I only had the teva a few days as I remember before had problems on loo . So realised after reading on here about teva affecting people ..you shouldn't have to research everything thyroid should you Dr's should know but thankfully we have thyroid uk to tell us the answers we need . .thinking now ....I was taking teva 25 mcg as it was under that hill brand. As I was told . I did try to take two 50 s instead of the 25 teva and 50 accord. But Dr hadn't authorised it so I was bit wary it was only two days last weekend .but it may be causing problems as you say now on 100 accord hopefully be enough to feel a bit better . The walking is seriously affecting my quality life .very limiting get v upset as can't do what I would like ..seeing physio Dec but if walking is affected by low thyroid I don't think they will be looking fir anything not muscular or bone related that's trouble just don't know .. thank you all xx

It takes quite a while for the symptoms to settle until you are on the correct dose. When you have been on the 100 mcg for 6 weeks, do another blood test and see where your levels are. You may still need another increase. Stay strong, it will get better.

I hope so thanks think when the gp did review August and decided keep me at 50 mcg as she thought it was stabilising? I certainly didn't I felt rough after that knowing had 8 weeks of it undermedicated ..then I had to see a Dr about the severe neck pain who walked in and said its too low !! .didn't even want to retest it at that point .then he said leave you on 75mcg 8 weeks . Just seemed like getting nowhere . Suffering and no end to it ..hoping 100 mcg plus might be a turning point . Not if left to some Dr's tho .on Monday the Dr would prob have left me on 75 . I think.they do expect you to know nothing and.accept it . I have been on them twice before made ill and 7 years of misery so know when its not right thanks fir all.advice xx

No problem, be persistent though and get tested again after you have been on your new dose for 6-8 weeks. Then you see where your levels are.

Remember, a normal replacement dose is 1.6 mcg levothyroxine per kg of body weight, so depending on how much you weigh, you may still need a bit more levothyroxine to feel better.
