My levels are back in 'normal' range after 4 months of 3 x per day of Propranolol (40mg), and the consultant has suggested a reduction in my Carbimazole from 20g to 10g per day, and to stop the Propranolol altogether. I asked if I could do this in one go and she said 'yes', however one of the lovely posters here suggested checking with the community to see if that is the right way to do it?
Thank you!

I am on a different one. My cardiologist wanted to trial reducing. I was told to reduce in increments monthly. But advice for other conditions is weekly to two weekly.
My specialist told me to stop propranolol & within a week I was very unwell with migraines the GP reinstated the prescription permanently. & I did reduce from 40mg x3 to a lower dose of 10mg x3 per day but don’t seem to be able go lower.
Others have stopped a high dose & had no Ill affects at all.
But I would not recommend you stop in 1 go, do it in several stages.
I reduced by 10mg a day for a week initially. but then had to go slower, eg 10mg every other day reducing every 2 weeks. I had standard release, so could split 40s into 4. If you have sustained release they can’t be split up.
Long term propranolol can lower magnesium levels. So I supplement.
