Citta well done for typing all those out, but you need to add the reference ranges too. (Click on More at the bottom of your post , then choose Edit)

Also need details of what thyroid medication/s and dose you're taking. And when you last took your thyroid meds prior to doing the bloods for this test. Plus details of any supplements you take like vitamin D, B12 etc.

I take 100 mcgs of Thyroxine. I also take marine collagen with Vitamin C and Vitamin supplement. I also take Omega by Bare biology. The Iron and Vit B results all came back within normal range. I am hoping that my cholesterol will lower if I can improve my thyroid levels. I have a strong family history of CVD and both parents died of the condition. Mother at 53 and father 72.

I take 100 mcgs of Thyroxine.

Was test early morning and last dose Levo 24 hours before test

Do you always get same brand levothyroxine at each prescription

VIT D 62 nmol/L

Vitamin D is too low

GP will often only prescribe to bring vitamin D levels to 50nmol.

Some areas will prescribe to bring levels to 75nmol or even 80nmol

leedsformulary.nhs.uk/docs/...

GP should advise on self supplementing if over 50nmol, but under 75nmol (but they rarely do)

mm.wirral.nhs.uk/document_u...

But with Hashimoto’s, improving to around 80nmol or 100nmol by self supplementing may be better

pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/218...

vitamindsociety.org/pdf/Vit...

Once you Improve level, very likely you will need on going maintenance dose to keep it there.

Test twice yearly when supplementing

Can test via NHS private testing service

Vitamin D mouth spray by Better You is very effective as it avoids poor gut function.

There’s a version made that also contains vitamin K2 Mk7.

One spray = 1000iu

It’s trial and error what dose we need, with thyroid issues we frequently need higher dose than average

Vitamin D may prevent Autoimmune disease

Magnesium best taken in the afternoon or evening, but must be four hours away from levothyroxine

can see looking at previous posts your hypothyroidism is autoimmune

Are you still on gluten free diet

Have you tried dairy free too

Ft3 is low

Getting Ft3 high will lower cholesterol

Here’s link for how to request Thyroid U.K.list of private Doctors emailed to you, but within the email a link to download list of recommended thyroid specialist endocrinologists who will prescribe T3

Ideally choose an endocrinologist to see privately initially and who also does NHS consultations so that might eventually transfer to getting T3 on NHS

I’m not diary free but avoid saturated fats. I’m not strictly gluten free but do have home made sourdough bread. I’ve got in contact with an endocrinologist who also works in nhs. I’m hopeful she might help. I think she could prescribe T3 ?

Depends …..most endocrinologists are diabetic specialists and often useless for thyroid

You can write a new post asking if for information on a named doctor…but answers must be by private messages only

if in England…..

Over 66,000 prescriptions for T3 in last year…..searchable by ICB area

I just tried to post asking for recommendation for a private clinician or specialist for Hashimotos and got a message saying that admin tired off replies. What have I done wrong?

SlowDragon profile image
SlowDragonAdministrator in reply toCitta

You haven’t done anything wrong

Any recommendation of a named Dr must be by private message only

So post is closed to stop anyone from making comments on open forum by mistake

Roughly where in U.K. are you re seeing an endocrinologist

Citta in reply toSlowDragon

I'm in Hampshire on the Surrey/Wessex borders but I think a lot of consultations now can be done on line. If I had to, I would be happy to travel though to get the right help.
