Has anyone undergone Thyroid nodules ablation to treat potentially cancerous nodules? I have two tiny nodues, one under class C. I have been given to perform Total Thyroidectomy.
Someone has told me about a non-surgical procedure called nodules ablation, to kill the nodules without removing the thyroid.
I have Graves disease and Thyroid eye disease. Thyroid levels are now under control. I would like to keep the thyroid since I have heard that Total Removal makes Thyroid Eye disease worst. Hence, considering the ablation option.
Looking forward to hearing from you

There are several forms of ablation treatments. Radioactive iodine, which you drink/ take as capsule is often recommended for hyper thyroid diseases, & the most preferred option by medics but is known to worsen TED.
You may have head of less invasive treatments for nodules
Are you in UK? or elsewhere? Add to profile. Guidelines in UK recommend ablation treatments are used where nodules are confirmed benign.
Most with TED & hyper are recommended surgery. TED can worsen if levels are not managed well after treatments. But if well controlled can be best option.
