You can send off to Medichecks or monitor my health or randox for private blood testing kit that will tell you if you have TPO antibodies, more rarely TgAb. Along with FT3 and FT4 which is very useful to know.
But…. I wouldn’t go to that expense when you have just made an increase. It will take at least 6 weeks to settle probably longer. The FT3 and FT4 won’t be useful until your body has got used to it.
Did the GP agree to the increase in dose or are you experimenting ? No judgement here just a genuine query 😊
If you ask GP might run a TPO antibodies test for you. Memory might be wrong but I think NHS don’t do a TgAb.
The GP initially said what do you want me to do(?!) ...when I said my TH4/3 were low (but GP said were normal)..she then said..OK to upping levothyroxine from 150 to 175
I used Medichecks to get my antibodies tested, using their TSH, FT4, Ft3 and antibodies test.
I was diagnosed hypothyroid in 1999. The NHS has NEVER tested my antibodies.
I think Regenallotment is correct in saying that the NHS only tests peroxidase antibodies anyway.
My peroxidase are within range, but my thyroglobulin antibodies were in the 500s when I found out through Medichecks that my hypothyroidism was autoimmune ie Hashi's.
