I got my Lola results back today too . My cortisol opposite to yours . Mines above range at 567..I'm hoping it down to hiit I've been doing. Have to say I was impressed with the whole service from them
Yes I can't complain really, had the bloods taken on Tuesday, phlebotomist came at the time expected (I messaged a few days before to ask if she could come within a 1 hour timeframe) although she had to improvise with taking my bloods without the elastic thing that goes around your arm with a torn glove because there wasn't one in the box...and she also didn't seem to be very experienced in filling in the forms and packing everything up as it should....but she was nice and dropped it off to my local post office straight after.
Can I spur this thread please? I have numbness tingling down left side among other stuff, I believe this coukd be encephalopathy, when I sprint on my bike for 10 mins, have licorice tea, it gets a bit better . Do you have strange stroke like symptoms?
It is low but you need to go to your go and repeat the test between 8-9 am to get referral to an endocrinologist. A random cortisol test out side these times is not helpful
Did your other results from Lola look as expected? Any strange ones? You might know that I had a test done last week which produced some very odd, unbelievable results eg T3 top of the range but also TSH top of the range, not surpressed as usual.
Itβs possible that there is an assay problem at the lab used, Eurofins.
Just would like to hear of any strange results from anyone using Lola. Iβm waiting for results of tests done by the NHS to compare results.
Everything came back as expected, my iron is low and that was shown on their results too. Platelet distribution width was also high, which again came back high via my GP bloods a few weeks ago. So I'm fairly confident the results were accurate.
Hmm well I managed to get a referral to endocrinology however the GP point blank refused to acknowledge my private blood results, in fact on the referral form she's put I've "complicated things" by having private bloods done! Nothing mentioned about this cortisol result because to her its irrelevant!
Overall another frustrating appointment and according to the GP my thyroid is normal so my referral will be refused. Which she can guarantee apparently.
π‘ So did she offer to retest your cortisol so that she could then whole heartedly support your needed referral with an acceptable blood test? You've ruffled her feathers and they seem to be trained to then be even more bl@@dy awkward rather than actually look into your concerns π€¬
Do you know where the referral is for as you might be able to supply them with your recent results, generally the secretaries I've dealt with have been excellent π
Nope no offer to retest my cortisol, she made out like I was an idiot for having private tests done and that they are meaningless. I think she got offended that I wasn't satisfied with her answer. Honestly the 2 GPs I've dealt with over this have genuinely made me question if I'm losing the plot and it's all in my head.
I think we can all assure you that you are the more knowledgeable one in the room when it comes to this subject and it is what is lacking from her head that is the issue.... if she really thought you an idiot why the referral?
Best to obliterate the Dr's Name, she obviously didn't back up the request with your symptoms did she!... Though he doesn't sound like he'd be much help, just listed as one of the Diabetes Team.... best thing to do now is concentrate on sorting out your low B12, folate and ferritin and try to stabilize things
Honestly I'm baffled. I've just had a skim through a Reddit thread and someone was diagnosed with subclinical hypo because they had a TSH of 4 but normal T3 & T4. Yet here I am with a mountain of symptoms, barely any hair left on my head, bloods that show low t4 and high TSH and 2 GPs telling me my thyroid is normal π€―
Oh absolutely, I just had the biggest meat feast for my dinner today π I'm taking my vitamins religiously and can only hope they improve soon. But for now I'm out of patience to be dealing with these terrible GPs so I'm just going to ignore it and get on with my life π€·π»ββοΈ
I've sent you a PM... are you able to message your GP? If so worth listing all of your symptoms as then they are going to show on your record as they have to add correspondence to your notes π
They are well aware of my symptoms! It's been brought up numerous times. What really peed me off was last week the male GP I spoke to blamed my heart palpitations and fatigue on ANXIETY. He said book an appointment to have my scalp looked at for the hair loss, and another appointment for the heavy periods. Basically finding every excuse to avoid blaming anything on my thyroid because they are adamant it's normal.
