I was diagnosed with Hashimotos 12 years ago and it has been a challenging journey finding the right combination of medication and self care strategies. Thanks to this forum and all the wonderful people who have shared their stories and advice with me, I now feel pretty good at 88 mcg Tirosint and Gluten Free diet. But, on that journey I was struck with a Frozen Shoulder. Frozen Shoulder happens more often in people with Thyroid Disease, specifically Hashimotos, so I thought I would share with anyone who is struggling with Frozen Shoulder what I have learned, and what helped me heal. Here is a video I made to help people like me suffering with this frustrating and painful condition. Let me know if it helps and if you have any questions:
My mother had that. I think it can be related to a few conditions, hers was a sign of a pancreas problem. Not to say yours is not thyroid related, I do get random muscular pain if my thyroid is not treated adequately.
I had a frozen shoulder about 25 yrs ago; thyroidectomy 42 yrs ago but of course no connection from the consultant I saw. So very very painful+had to go private to get it sorted! Will watch yr video with interest!
I had ultrasound guided cortisone injections in my frozen shoulder’s. Both shoulders responded really well initially however one shoulder needed a top up about four months later. That was about 10 years ago. However recently I feel there has been a general decline in the effectiveness of my medication dose and I can feel my shoulders becoming sore again.
Oh Dear, I hope it isn't another frozen shoulder! But, at least you know how to deal with it this time around. I agree that over time our thyroid medication needs to be adjusted. Our bodies change with age. Good luck sorting it out.
