Hi,I am taking 100 mcg levothyroxine since July, 2024.My latest TSH level was 0.03 but Ft3 and FT4 were in the normal ranges. The test was taking while fasting but my doctor advised me to take the medicine so she can check how much thyroxine is in my blood.

Since last 2 months,I am getting very strange symptoms. My anxiety and increase a lot and I'm getting panic attacks almost everyday.I also noticed that I am shaking my legs so much while sitting.Hunger has increased as well. And I am extremely tired all day long.Heart palpitations are in control due to Concor 5 mg.I started Concor for palpitations and high blood pressure 2 months ago.

I am feeling lightheaded and dizzy. Not able to do anything because my this extreme weakness, fatigue and lightheadedness.

Doctor don't seem to understand and says that I am thinking too much.

I am trying to find out if I am being over medicated or experiencing side effects of Concor 5mg?

Sounds like adding the Concor at the same time as increasing your T4 could be the problem... would have been better to let the T4 settle first and see if that settled your BP... worth cutting your Concor tablet and gradually reducing the dose to see if things improve?

Sounds very much like you are suffering the side effects of Concor, what is you BP like now? Has it dropped too low? Has your cholesterol always been low?

My cholesterol has always been fine.My blood pressure was 129/89 and pulse rate 63 when I check about half an hour ago.Yesterday my pulse was 58.It has never been lower than 60.So maybe I need to reduce my concor dose and talk to my doctor.I just want to prepare myself before talking to the doctor because he seems to blame everything on my anxiety. And I feel that it's either my high levothyroxine or high concor dose giving me all these symptoms.

Your thyroid levels look good so I'd stick with 100mcg

Have you tried checking your BP when you stand as this can give a telling result?

Sounds like your Dr is a bully and just because he thinks you should take something doesn't mean it'll be right for you, I think many GP's think most people just want a pill and will go away 😕

If they make you feel worse then gradually reduce and keep monitoring... you sound far more tuned in than your GP, trust your instincts 🤗

what are most recent vitamin D, folate, B12 and ferritin levels

Is your hypothyroidism autoimmune

Vitamin D was 58 nmol/L ,ferritin was 65.2 ng/ml (range 10-291).No idea about B12 and Folate as the doctor won't test because according to him my Hemoglobin was 12 so I'm not anemic. My Haematocrite was 2 points lower than the normal range.Does that points to vitamin B 12 deficiency?

My TPO was negative when I first had my thyroid test. No idea about TBAG but my thyroid scan was normal.

Ferritin aim to maintain at least over 70. Look at increasing iron rich foods in your diet

So vitamin D is too low

How much vitamin D are you taking

Suggest you get B12 and folate tested

Are you in U.K.?

Difficult to make out the range for your FT4. This is what I see:

FT4: 17.62 pmol/l (Range 15 - 22.7) 34.03%

Which would be weird given that your FT3 is 80%. Can you confirm the numbers by writing the in a response, please?

The test was taking while fasting but my doctor advised me to take the medicine so she can check how much thyroxine is in my blood.

Be very wary of this request. It looks like he's looking for an excuse to reduce your dose of levo - because there's nothing a doctor like more than reducing levo! Makes them feel they've achieved something. Obviously if you take your levo before the blood draw your FT4 is going to be much higher, because what you're testing is the dose you just took, not what is normally circulating in your blood, which is far more important to know. If anything, I think you need an increase in dose. But I don't understand that high FT3...

Free T4 (fT4) 17.62 pmol/L (11.5 - 22.7) 54.6%

Oh, 11.5! How did you manage to make that out? lol Well, that's a better range, anyway. But FT4 still low-ish. But FT3... Did I get the range wrong on that one, too?

FT3: 5.9 pmol/l (Range 3.5 - 6.5) 80.00%

Don't think I did. So one possible explanation for that high FT3: Samia21 it's possible that you do have Hashi's.

Not what you're looking for?
