Tips for a clean and clear blood test

Dear All,

I'm asking you as I know you will have answers. I have a blood test arranged, not for Thyroid, I know those does and don'ts (thanks to HealthUnlocked). This test is to differentiate between Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes. I can go at a time I want, would it be best first thing, lunchtime or when? Should I eat as normal, fast or be generally careful? This is an important crossroads for me and I need to get it right.

With thanks to the responses I'll get, Rosiebones

I think you should find out from whoever ordered your test. If it is an HbA1c test it won’t matter when it is done or if you have eaten because it shows what has been happening over a longer period of time

If it’s not HbA1c then you would be best to speak to whoever has booked the test for you.

Dear Fruitandnutcase,

Thank you for your speedy response. I'm using a reputable company who have sent good advice but nothing along the lines I mention. I will ask them.

All the best Rosiebones
