We ask that all members read them and very much hope you do so. However, in time, we can forget what was there, or misremember, or whatever.

Hence, I am posting this short reminder of the guidelines in full.

And (today) of this specific item:

34. Do not use 'Text Speak' when posting or replying.

The membership of this forum is diverse. In the current poll, we can see members from round the globe. We have members who have a variety of first languages. We have members who have only just found the forum and others who have been here from the start.

This means that we should try to use standard English and avoid the shortened forms often found in text messages. In general, we should review what we type and avoid abbreviations, short forms, and other ways of writing which can cause difficulty in being understood.

It is not like traditional SMS messages or Twitter with 140 character limits. There is no need to shorten things.
