for 25 years I have been taking L-Thyroxin Henning direct from Germany but that is now withdrawn. I have heard that Aristo/Vencamil is available in the UK although my Pharmacist is having real problems trying to access it. Dose anyone know of a London Pharmacist which can obtain it. I live in N1.

Thank you

I have now had 3 months of Vencamil and am beginning to feel better.Have the 25 and 50 tablets become available yet? -

I am glad you are feeling better.

Yes, 25, 50 and 75 are available. There are delays but they are coming through.

Make sure your prescriber puts:

Vencamil 25microgram

Do NOT say 25micrograms levothyroxine (Vencamil - Aristo Ltd).

Can you please clarify. Are you wanting to obtain Aristo/Vencamil with an NHS prescription, or a private prescription?

I can use either , in the last years have had a private prescription for L-Thyroxin Henning now no longer possible . I can ask my Family Dr for a Private or an NHS prescription for Aristo/Vencamil whichever works best to ensure a reliable supply. Which would you advise?

You probably have more chance of getting a consistent supply of your preferred brand by private prescription. However, a private prescription means you have to pay for the medication. An NHS prescription will not cost you anything.

There is a list of pharmacies on the Thyroid UK website, which you could contact to ask if they would be able to supply your preferred brand with private or NHS prescription. thyroiduk.org/get-support/t...

VioletElizabeth, I get my Vencamil (100mcgm) tablets dispensed by Springfield Pharmacy at Richmond on Thames. My NHS GP sends my repeat prescription to them electronically and the medication is sent in the post, very quickly.

I have used Springfield for over 4 years and always found them reliable. I am hoping to hear about the smaller doses 25, and 50 mcgm soon so that I don't have to cut up 100mcgm tablets.
