Can someone advise me please?

Hi, I was prescribed 50 of levo but nervous to start on that dose after reading "start slowly" so have been taking 25 for 2 weeks now, I have leg pain back & some anxiety/feeling a bit low but otherwise ok, should I increase to the prescribed amount now? Or wait another couple of weeks? Thank you for reading 😊

Wise to take things slowly and tune in to your body, 50mcg is a starter dose so you should be fine to now increase to that and then wait 8 weeks before retesting.

How are your folate, ferritin, B12 and Vit D levels looking? You might find adding magnesium will help with aches and relaxation best taken at bedtime

a complex is often a good route

anxiety is all part of being under replaced πŸ™ƒ

Thank you so much for answering 😊 I'm due to get bloods for everything on 5th September? Should I push that forward then? I've been taking B complex, selenium, vitamin D, vitamin E & magnesium plus berberine (pre diabetic shockingly & high cholesterol) also gluten free & lactose free now!

5th Sept will be perfect if you go to 50mcg now, stop the B complex 5 days before and hide your Levo the day before so you don't take it in the morning 😬

Pre diabetic and high cholesterol will hopefully resolve as you get to the right level of thyroid replacement

If you think lactose free is best for you, you might want to push for lactose free levo?

Thanks to this forum I asked for that to be put on my prescription & the pharmacy have noted it so yes, I have the lactose free 😊 once I take the 50 will these "symptoms" subside? Physically i feel like I'm going backwards today?

Which make are they?

Many people don't get on with Teva which I think are the only lactose free 50mcg, hopefully Vencamil will be bringing out the rest of their range soon as they only do 100mcg at the moment though they do split easily

Yes they're teva? Really appreciate you taking the time to help πŸ™‚

Taking a small dose can easily make you feel worse as it sends the signal to your thyroid to ease off production even when you still don't have enough of it in your system πŸ˜•
