ferritin levels and T3 update..

just wanted to share my latest results..previously ferritin was 24 that was early May..started with ferrous fumarate and then 3 arrows also removed gluten. I didn’t take the 3 arrows for 2 days before this test to see if my level dropped as it was 84 the week before.

i had to wait for a retest as my 1st was not a good sample but it did tell me my ferritin at that point was 84 so I started taking t3 splitting 10mg and taking it twice a day..I have now upped it to 10mg twice a day..

I had some leg pain last week more so on day 2 but that’s okay.

I’ve stopped the ferrous fumarate and just taking the 3 arrows 2 tablets a day..and think I’ll just take it every other day.

Any advice on when to take T3 I usually take 10mg 1st thing and wait minimum of 1 hour before breakfast etc..

many thanks

Thank you purplenails..

I’m having my thyroid levels tested again next Friday so the NHS endo can checks if I’m on the correct amount of T3. This won’t include my ferritin levels.. but I’m going to stop the 3 arrows until after the test.. I’m a bit confused about when to take my last 10mg of t3 before the test on Friday.. do I just hold off on the 100mg of Levo that I take at night and the morning 10mg of T3

It also looks unlikely that I’ll be given the same brand of T3 is this likely to cause problems?

Many thanks any advice is appreciated..

this post explains dose & timings

healthunlocked.com/thyroidu...

If taking liothyronine (T3) or NDT

Even if you normally take a single dose T3, on the day before test split T3 as 2 or 3 smaller doses spread through the day, with last dose approximately 8-12 hours before test

If levels seem stable medics set retest for 12 months, but if altering brands treat as dose adjustment & retest 6~8 weeks later.
