Hi you lovely lot

I don’t post much but really appreciate the knowledge and expertise shown on this site. I read all posts and research as much as I possibly can to manage my condition.

So, I’m currently on 100mcg levo prescribed by GP somewhat reluctantly. I was taking 125mcg for a while as I thought it would help me improve quickly but have come to realise nothing about managing hypothyroidism is quick.

I’ve recently started T3 via Roseway. Started at 2.5mcg once a day from beginning of June, currently on 2.5mcg three times a day.

Although it’s a bit early I have had another private blood test at same time as NHS one.

Results are:

TSH 0.541 (0.27-4.2)

T3 4.0 (3.1-6.8) 24.3%

T4 15.6 (12-22) 36%

My biggest concerns are pain, joints & muscle, constipation (made worse with painkillers), bladder control (despite max medication) and needing daytime sleeps.

I want to increase T3, thinking of 2.5mcg four times a day or try 5mcg twice a day.

No adverse side effects so far I’m happy to say.

How long have you been on the same dose before having this test done? It looks like you've tested a bit too soon if you only started at the beginning of June.

It takes 6-8 weeks for thyroid levels to stabilise before results can be reliable.

I thought a bit soon but really wanted to compare NHS TSH to Medichecks - very similar result so that’s reassuring.

was last dose T3 approx 8-12 hours before test

You look like have room to increase levothyroxine first

This would increase Ft4 and Ft3

What are your vitamin levels like

I did the test as advised, fasting and last doses as recommended.

Vitamin levels looked good at last full blood test.

I would like to increase to 125mcg of levo but I’ve had to fight to be on it in the first place and they’re always reluctant to increase as my TSH is ‘normal’ 😠.
