How best to split a 5mcg Roma capsule

Hi

I’ve just been to collect my first ever Liothyronine. I’ve been given 5mcg Roma capsules. I would like to be able to just start with 2.5mcg. Have searched for posts on splitting the capsules - some suggest mixing with water and using a syringe to take half - but possible issue with the second half not being useable. Or tipping out the powder and trying to separate out half (and take in water I think…)

Any thoughts?

Also the leaflet doesn’t say anything about taking on an empty stomach or avoiding food and drink for a while afterwards - is it really just OK to have it along with a cuppa and a biscuit? Thanks.

Best to take on empty stomach and wait at least 30 mins

Tip out roughly half the capsule onto a clean plate or saucer. Mop up powder with damp finger or tongue and wash down with water
