Good afternoon all you wonderful lot. I’m at a point where I know I need to increase my dose. Been on between 3 and 4 grains of various NDT was side swiped by NP being removed and WP and the ineffective naturethroid. Anyhow went to Thai with some success bar the last batch which was just nuts and I ended up overdosed. I’m now on bovine and on Clutter’s much respected advice I started back on 1 and have gradually made my way up to 2.5 which I’ve been on for just over 2 weeks. Put a considerable amount weight on (never mind it’s winter) despite doing my best to mitigate. That said I’m sleeping (yay) I have had insomnia for a few years on and off hrt improved it for a while but overdosing did me no favours so happy about that. So question is I need to go to 2and 3/4 but wondered whether it might be ok for purely practical reasons to take 3 one day and 2.5 the next. Splitting a powder capsule into 4 is no mean feat. I look like I’m 6 months pregnant I’m that erm “bunged up” I feel low but that’s explainable and sleepy and red eyed most of the time.

Did you know that it is possible to buy empty capsules and gadgets to help people filling them, either gelatin or vegetarian :
amazon.co.uk/Your-Supplemen...
and
amazon.co.uk/Capsule-Capsul...
The capsules and the holders come in different sizes.
I've never used these or had any need to use these but people who buy powder supplements use these apparently.
Hi jodypody, you responded to my Hashimoto s yesterday post. I deleted that extra P.s. post but I still have the first post I made. Allie323.
Morning to you. I’ve just read through your post and responses. You sound like you are in a really bad place. A few questions I have for you. Are you still taking your prescribed medication for hrt gel and progesterone? It is right that progesterone has a soporific affect as does T3 if it’s needed. If you are overdosed (I’ve just been through this) you’re correct you don’t sleep but it’s also accompanied by feeling hot, losing weight and having “ an overactive bowel” shall we say. I had to start from the beginning and under medicate to reset everything. My symptoms were: sleep apnea, pins and needles and swelling, constipation, panic attacks in the night feeling freezing cold (hands, feet and nose) lethargy, sad, teary. I have also put about 10lbs on (I’m small framed and 5ft 2 so it really shows) I was waking up with dead arms but I have been sleeping and falling asleep in the afternoon (I’ve been overdosed for about 2-3 years ) Can I ask did you take your thyroid medication at the time of blood test and what time were your bloods drawn? Are you still 100% gluten free?
I have all the symptoms you have except I lost weight not gained and I started taking medication basically on my own after getting prescription for t4t3 or T3 only slow release or even Synthroid so I tried these on my own for seven to eight weeks. I've never taken meds before and I've had Hashimoto's but always in range blood tests. So I did a blood test for this new GP about 10 days after I stopped taking the medications so they were still in me I guess. But the test was not that much different and how I usually run I always had higher TSH but only 4.1 or 3.49 or 2.9. With meds it goes alittle lower. GP said because I got jittery from taking these meds for 8 weeks I was hyper so that meant I didn't need them and that my half- thyroid with pumping out enough thyroid meds and he wanted to try something else so he's got me on mitazapine to help sleep and he thinks something neuro is going on and the Mirtazapine would help slepp and for putting on weight but I think it's just another antidepressant and that's what's making me dizzy and lightheaded and low blood pressure right now which I've got to tell him I can't take more of it I take it in small doses before he was my doctor, in large doses it has more side effects. Have you heard of LDN low dose Naltrexone ? I asked him and told him I want to do it address autoimmune and people can take it to lower their antibodies. In Hashimoto's you get to feeling better and then maybe I could try thyroid medication. Sorry about the underlining my phone is doing that because I'm dictating too tired to type all this.
