Sudden crash back into fatigue.

After seeing my Endo last week, my T3 was kept the same (5mcg twice a day) and my t4 was put back up to 75. Usually it takes weeks before any difference shows doesn’t it? It wouldn’t be any difference in this case?

The day after I started back on the higher dose I felt exhausted, insomnia and poor sleep and muscle aches. Nothing else has changed in terms of meds or anything.

It could be I’ve got a bug or something I guess. Or maybe a bit of stress has triggered problems. Otherwise I’m starting to think something else might be wrong with me.

Just wanted to check with you experts that that the levo increase wouldn’t ever have a sudden effect??

I need to make adjustments super slowly, as I can get adverse symptoms otherwise. It could be that increasing by 25mcg Levo is too much all in one go. I add 12.5mcg alternate days until well tolerated, then move to taking this every day, before adding another 12.5mcg. I find a pill cutter very handy for this task!

Your previous results indicate you would benefit from a Levo increase….you may just need to be more ‘tortoise’ than ‘hare’ when adjusting your dose.

Oh really? I didn't realise it could be like that. I've always been ok with 25mcg adjustments, but this is the first time I've had an increase whilst on T3 as well. That's interesting to know, thanks. I feel so awful, it's rubbish!

Most members report being fine with a 25mcg Levo increase but others, myself included, need to make adjustments slowly. I personally only adjust Levo by 12.5mcg increments and Lio by 2.5mcg. Going slowly has the advantage of not missing your ‘sweet spot’ where you feel most well.

Hope you feel better soon!

I’d have to do every other day for a week, I might even skip a few days of T3 too, I don’t convert well at the best of times but need T4 sorting before T3, doing it backwards gives me very confusing symptoms of aches and chills and stomach/digestive disturbances. After about a week of gentle twiddling I can usually settle on the increase but feel awful weeks 3-4 then slowly improve. 🌱

Sounds rubbish for you. Clearly it is more complicated for some then. Maybe I’m going to have to experiment for myself.
