low ft4

hi everyone

I don't know how much people are able to help me without test results but its worth a shot anyway. I've been taking cynoplus for a few years and have always felt well. So well I'm now on nybsecond pregnancy. I'm with a consultant but haven't mentioned in taking cynoplus as I'm worried they will tell me to stop and last time no did that in is carried. My TSH is suppressed and expected but ft4 is also low so I think I need to tweak my medication a bit. Not sure how to do this though. Would I need to add a small amount of levo?

We can help you but first we need current test results

How much levothyroxine/cynoplus are you taking?

Suggest you have a full thyroid test to include....

TSH, FT4, FT3, vit D, vit B12, folate, ferritin and thyroid antibodies

Many of us test privately to ensure we achieve the full test

thyroiduk.org/testing/

Have you optimised vit D, vit B12, folate and ferritin?

I'm sorry if I've misunderstood your post but it would be irresponsible of us to advise on your medication/ dose without the results which show your thyroid status

Post the new results including reference ranges along with details of the replacement hormone/s you are taking. Include any nutritional supplements and other medications that may interact with the cynoplus. With that information we can suggest a way forward.

Cynoplus is T4+T3. So, yes, TSH is expected to be suppressed - although we don't know how much the OP is taking. And that is also why the FT4 is low.

siobhanmt247 yes, we need more detail to be able to answer your questions, but pretty sure the only way to increase your FT4 is to add in some levo. :)

Thank you greygoose.

That was a stupid mistake!!

Have edited reply.

It's no excuse... but I've noticed that the hefty dose of antibiotics I've just finished has been messing with my brain. Argh!!

It's not a name we see very often - in fact, I've never seen it before. And it does sound like some sort of mult-vit, rather than thyroid hormone replacement. Makes you wonder how they come up with these names!

May be a bit of a stupid mistake (as you put it!) but the page is not well-formatted to make you realise it is a two-component product.

thank you for getting back to me. Cynoplus is 120 T4 and 30 T3 in one tablet so I guess its a bit like under armour. I thought this would be easier than taking two tablets but now I'm wondering if I should reduce t3 somehow. Unfortunately the hospital haven't given me a record of the results anywhere
