evening levo dosing before morning blood draw

Hello, I have a blood draw coming up soon at 9am and currently taking levothyroxine around 11pm. When should I take my last levo dose before the test please? I’m currently on 100mcg vencamil. Thanks

Forum advice re timings of blood draw:

a)complete thyroid blood tests early morning (preferably before 9am)

b) drink only water before the blood draw

C) ensure your last dose of Levothyroxine is 24 hours before the test (ie take your daily Levo AFTER the blood draw).

This ensures highest TSH reading, lowest FT4 reading and offers consistent results. (Please note, this is a patient-to-patient tip)

I personally would swap to taking Levothyroxine in a morning for a couple of days prior to your test. After the test, revert back to your usual evening dose if this timing suits you better.

If you normally take levothyroxine at bedtime/in night ...adjust timings as follows prior to blood test

If testing Monday morning, delay Saturday evening dose levothyroxine until Sunday morning. Delay Sunday evening dose levothyroxine until after blood test on Monday morning. Take Monday evening dose levothyroxine as per normal
