I feel so angry after seeing the GP this morning about other blood tests. It was again not my GP, I am going to start asking only to see my GP so I know what I am dealing with.
We ended up discussing my thyroid symptoms and he kept circling back to "we shouldn't discount what the mind can do" and "it looks from your notes that the surgeru doesn't think your symptoms are necessarily thyroid caused".
I kept asking how could they be certain if my levels aren't optimal, my medication is not in the vicinity of what NICE guidelines say. He just was circling back to mind stuff and that these symptoms comr from lots of things.
He literally had ALL the tests on the screen from my complete blood panel saying everything else is normal. (Except for one thing but he said that was likely my normal).
I am just so angry with how many times he went back to saying the mind can be very strong. It is not my mind, thyroid symptoms are affecting me being able to do the things I love not things I want to avoid.
Now it has me worrying what is going to happen when I get my next thyroid blood test as he said the other doctor's notes are written in a way that says she was very reluctant to have done the increase. So, now I'm expecting a battle.

Here’s link for how to request Thyroid U.K.list of private Doctors emailed to you, but within the email a link to download list of recommended thyroid specialist endocrinologists
Ideally choose an endocrinologist to see privately initially and who also does NHS consultations
I feel for you Obsidian; unfortunately many of us have been told it’s ’in the mind’. My GP initially diagnosed me with ‘ health anxiety’, suggested I saw a psychotherapist & offered me anti depressants. Joining this forum helped me realise that my symptoms were related to being under medicated/ vitamins not being optimal and I followed forum advice to improve this.

Double standards at play here.
If one thing outside the nhs ranges can be considered your normal, then surely other things that are within the ranges could be considered to be NOT your normal. Therefore your normal for other things could possibly be outside the ranges.
I've already contacted my gp surgery asking to only see my own doctor from now on. Apparently, I have to ask every single time I contact them via econsult or ask for am appointment.
