Am doing lots of research into treatment of hypothyroidism. Looking at diet and supplements to get maximum benefit from treatment. It would appear that levothyroxine is the main prescribed medicine. Has anyone used DTE’s or metavive alongside it or in addition to it?

CookieRzasa, Yes, levothyroxine is the first line treatment. It is the simplest and easiest form of replacement hormone, and many people do just fine on it.
It is best to start off with levothyroxine, working up to your own personal dose. If, after reaching optimal levothyroxine dose and sticking with it for an appropriate period of time, all is not as it should be, then would be the time to look at trialling other possibilities such as liothyronine, desiccated thyroid etc.
From my experience it's important to sort out your nutrition before anything else. A nutritional doctor who I went to said that once you get your nutrition right then any medical problem will present more clearly.

Do you have an issue with taking levo? I started and have remained on Metavive. I like it but sometimes I wish I’d tried levo first because it seems an easier journey and also I’m curious to know whether or not I’m a good converter and once taking Metavive or NDT, it’s impossible to find out
