Hubby just picked up my meds for me. Normally I wouldn't let him because of constantly having to check they are supplying Accord, I did ask him to check , he probably asked rather than check? Don't want to seem ungrateful , I am struggling at the moment physically and mentally and he is helping so much.
I just opened the paper bag and inside is normal 50mcg Accord PL 0142/0104, but the 100 mcg's are Hillcross PL 0142/0105 MA Holder Accord Barnstable just want to check @ hellvalla if this is actually TEVA, there seems to have been so much chopping and changing over the years, brand names changing , different companies swallowing up other companies and changing preparations, really don't want to end up like last time I was given Teva in the days before I knew the effects it could have, took me about 2 years to get back to anywhere near ok

This will be exactly what it says - Accord product. Not Teva.
This packaging is new to me for the 100 microgram levothyroxine (and I imagine the same will be done for 50 microgram tablets).
However, the 25 microgram Hillcross is Teva.
This is exactly parallel to the situation as existed for a long time with the Northstar branding.
Now my UK medicines document has been updated to include this AAH Hillcross packaged products.
helvella's medicines documents (UK and Rest of the World) can be found here:
helvella - Thyroid Hormone Medicines
helvella has created, and tries to maintain, documents containing details of all thyroid hormone medicines in the UK and, in less detail, many others around the world. There is now a specific world desiccated thyroid document.
I highly recommend viewing on a computer screen, or a decent sized tablet, rather than a phone. Even I find it less than satisfactory trying to view them on my phone.
helvella - Thyroid Hormone Medicines - UK
The UK document contains up-to-date versions of the Summary Matrixes for levothyroxine tablets, oral solutions and also liothyronine available in the UK. Includes descriptions of tablet markings which allow identification. Latest updates include all declared ingredients for all UK products and links to Patient Information Leaflets, etc.
Contains details of all levothyroxine, liothyronine and combination products - excluding desiccated thyroid products. Details available vary by country and manufacturer.
The link below takes you to a blog page which has direct links to the documents from Dropbox and QR codes to make it easy to access from phones. You will have to scroll down or up to find the link to the document you want.
And thank you so much for the updated information. My prescription is clearly marked “Not Teva”, but, I nearly came away with 2 boxes of 25mcg Hillcross variety this morning alongside the 2 lots of 100mcg Hillcross tabs in the bag. The Pharmacist apologised and swapped for the usual Wockhardt. Left me wondering if they actually knew the lower dosage to be Teva. Had I not been alerted via others on the forum and your medicines document, I would have been wondering why so grim in a few days time. Thank you.
Thank You helvella see it worked yippy, so the PL for the Hillcross 100mcg PL 0142/0105 , so do the PL's stay the same regardless of packaging/name. I'll be needing to keep a list of PL's in my purse for future ref, just about got used to keeping track of name changes,
You don't need the PL numbers (though they can help for confirmation). The company named as the PL company is what matters.
When products are supplied under "own label supplier" arrangements, the PL numbers remain the same. And the manufacturer is responsible for the registration with the MHRA, the Patient Information Leaflet, etc.
The Matrix in my UK document should suffice (though not always easy to print - especially if you don't have a printer).
PLEASE - I have added a screenshot of the levothyroxine matrix but it WILL go out of date quickly. Always check the actual document and don't rely on a screenshot like this.
they don't make it easy do they, had the same argument with GP and reception staff the classic " but it says Levo and all Levo is the same" erm No wrong
