My husband picked up my levothyroxine 25mcg prescription today for me, which was lovely of him, but doesn’t understand the problem. I’m just being awkward by making a fuss about Teva 🤷‍♀️

Different brand again!! It’s HILLCROSS

mah Teva.

Manufactur Pliva Croatia

The leaflet inside states info for 12.5, 25, 50, 75 and 100mcg tablets

Thought I’d make everyone aware of it

It has been available since 06/11/2023. :-)

So far as I know, it is only in the 25 microgram dosage. The other dosages are there simply because it is the standard Teva Patient Information Leaflet.

helvella's medicines documents (UK and Rest of the World) can be found here:

helvella - Thyroid Hormone Medicines

helvella has created, and tries to maintain, documents containing details of all thyroid hormone medicines in the UK and, in less detail, many others around the world. There is now a specific world desiccated thyroid document.

I highly recommend viewing on a computer screen, or a decent sized tablet, rather than a phone. Even I find it less than satisfactory trying to view them on my phone.

helvella - Thyroid Hormone Medicines - UK

The UK document contains up-to-date versions of the Summary Matrixes for levothyroxine tablets, oral solutions and also liothyronine available in the UK. Includes descriptions of tablet markings which allow identification. Latest updates include all declared ingredients for all UK products and links to Patient Information Leaflets, etc.

helvella - World Desiccated Thyroid

Contains details of all known desiccated thyroid products.

helvella - Thyroid Hormone Medicines - RotW

Contains details of all levothyroxine, liothyronine and combination products - excluding desiccated thyroid products. Details available vary by country and manufacturer.

The link below takes you to a blog page which has direct links to the documents from Dropbox and QR codes to make it easy to access from phones. You will have to scroll down or up to find the link to the document you want.

Thank you helvella. I did look at your documents but obviously didn't look hard enough. First time I’ve been given it. Once my hip replacement has settled I’ll be collecting my own prescriptions again 😬

Hi Hilda, I know you from the AF site but I just wanted to ask you if you found the Hillcross brand ok.

I have taken Wockhardt Levo 25mg for years but have been given Hillcross today

TamlaMotown,

Hylda2 got 100 microgram AAH Hillcross - which is actually Accord product. As is the 50 microgram AAH Hillcross.)

You got 25 microgram AAH Hillcross - which is actually Teva.

Whether Hylda2 got on fine, or not, it is an entirely different formulation.

AAH Hillcross is an "own-label supplier". It isn't a brand, and they do not make anything.

Why does my pharmacist insist it is not Teva

helvellaAdministrator in reply toTamlaMotown

I suspect your pharmacist is ignorant. I can't think of any other sensible reason. Maybe they checked the 50 or 100 microgram AAH Hillcross and saw that is Accord product and simply assumed the 25 microgram would be the same?

Look at the card outer packaging. It will tell you who the license holder is.

The attached image is from TevaUK's own website.

The text block reads:

Pack type: PP

PIP code: N/A

Product licence number: 00289/1972

Product code: 32082943

Product classification: POM

Categories: Levothyroxine

This is the link - but you might have to scroll and click on the product:

I am not a pharmacist.I have no pharmacy training.Just a member of the public. I could be wrong. If you think I am, please tell me so I can look further!
