I’m having problems sourcing Accord brand. All the local pharmacies are saying they only have Mercury sent from the supplier. I have a feeling that since I picked up and used my last script of this, which was two months supply, I haven’t been doing as well. I have mentioned to doc who says it’s all the same hormone! I know! 😬
Anyone else not able to get Accord?
I only want Accord brand too. My prescription specifically states Accord/Northstar only but my local pharmacist tries to fob me off with any old brand he has in stock.
When he says he can't get Accord, I phone Lloyds chemist in the next village. They often do have it, so then I know to tell my chemist to go to the same supplier and try harder!
Have you asked a Lloyds if they can get it? Also, I'm sure that Helvella has posts stating that Almus from Boots is the same as Accord.
Like you, I don't get on with Mercury Pharma ( nor Teva )......which is what my pharmacist usually tries to fob me off with. I'm sure he thinks I'm just being awkward...."all the same" 🤬. If only they knew !!!

There’s only one Lloyds in my area and they don’t have it.
I won’t mind so much except when they changed my brand, I thought to myself, Oh come on now, as long as it’s not Teva I’ll be ok. I am ok but just not as good!
My scrip says Mercury Pharma only and keep getting Accord! 😢
Superdrug and Boots both stock Almus, which is made by Accord. I recently changed pharmacies to go to Superdrug ,I get Accord as a named brand. They give me Almus 😄

I’m in York. I found a pharmacy across town after trying 7, all saying they take what they are sent and that’s was invariably Mercury. Now I’ve just received a text from my practice ‘in-house pharmacy ‘ ( they issue repeat scripts but don’t supply) to say they will ring me tomorrow afternoon to discuss brands of levo. I anticipate what that convo will be about! Hoping I’m wrong.

If a patient reports persistent symptoms when switching between different levothyroxine tablet formulations, consider consistently prescribing a specific product known to be well tolerated by the patient.
If symptoms or poor control of thyroid function persist (despite adhering to a specific product), consider prescribing levothyroxine in an oral solution formulation.

Thanks for that. My recent extensive blood tests arranged by the Physician Associate at my group practice , show my tsh is well controlled so I think it will be a difficult one to argue. Besides, I might be wrong but I’d like to have the opportunity to test it out!
Try Boots if you can. They most often dispense Almus which is Accord product.

morning I am having the same problem. I have always taken Accord brand which states on my notes. I feel alot better when taken Accord brand. I have had to take another brand until my pharmacy as ordered my brand in which they can do.
