I used to have no problem getting this brand but I’ve tried 3 different chemists on several occasions and they’re no longer being ordered. Does anyone have any idea what’s happened? Is it purely on price?

I had a problem obtaining my Morningside 5mcg off the NHS last week. I get mine prescribed by my endocrinologist and collect from my hospital pharmacy.

They told me that contracts have changed in the NHS supply chain and they needed to go through a procedure to obtain the Morningside for me. It took just over a week but I got a call yesterday to advise they’ve finally got them in stock for me now.

So, it’s something to do with procurement of them changing with this particular manufacturer who produce Liothyronine by Morningside. You might still be able to get them if you ask your hospital endocrinologist for a white prescription to enable you to order from a hospital pharmacy rather than a green prescription from a community pharmacy.
