Hope you are all well. Can anyone of you lovely people recommend a good moisturiser that will help with my dry scaly skin caused by my thyroid problem.
There are so many out there that just seem to sit on top of my skin and have no affect. My skin is so dry its starting to flake and i hate it.
Can anyone advise me what to use.
many thanks as usual

I’m a big fan of aromatherapy and have found that if I mix a couple of drops of essential oil in a carrier (such as organic coconut oil or almond oil) and put this on my arms/ legs it works very well. Sandalwood helps dry skin, frankincense for healing, rose for menopausal symptoms etc. healthline.com/health/essen...
I use Epaderm, really effective and no perfumes. I managed to get it on repeat from GP, so it’s free. It’s fairly expensive otherwise, about £12 for a large bottle. But that cost is in line with medical moisturisers.
Dermol 500, I rub into dry areas, rub it in, leave it a few minutes and rub in again and it will absorb nicely. It is classed as an emollient.
I use it when washing my hands when they get very dry when I have washed them too often with liquid soap, they recover fully after a couple of days. I also use it on my hands last thing at night when it will absorb and do it’s job without washing them for a few hours. If over 60 you should get it it free on the NHS unless they prescribe a cheaper version.
ha ...if only it was that easy ...im all over the place with my doctors and medication dosage so in the meantime i need to try to sort out a fix.....thank you for replying 🙂
Hello there,The cream I have been using is O'Keeffe's skin relief and repair.Body cream for severely dry skin.I got it from Amazon and it was under £10 for a large pump bottle(325ml).It is my second bottle and I use it everywhere apart from my face. It's by the same people who make Working Hands and Working feet but more economical. It has stopped the itching and prickling I get and soaks in lovely,so not greasy.Hope it helps.
The best I have found is pure lanolin. Some people are allergic to it though. It is absorbed so fast you wonder if you have done a bit. Available fairly cheaply on the net.
I found this out when my poor old hands suddenly were all soft and supple after helping with shearing! Lanolin oil is the equivalent of human sebum, the oil our skin produces naturally. It also contains Vitamin D,
