The Thyroid UK Admin Team are a small group of volunteers who are passionate about helping others to find the best way forward with their thyroid health issues. None of the Admin Team are medically qualified, and they are not employed by the Thyroid UK charity.
πΈ The first and foremost duty of the Admin Team is to uphold the rules of both the Health Unlocked platform and the Posting Guidelines unique to this forum.
πΈ This is a carefully moderated forum, aiming to make the information shared here as reliable and valuable as possible.
πΈ The Admin Team aim to ensure discussions are kept on topic, and that member posts and replies adhere to the rules.
πΉ New members should make a concerted effort to read through, and adhere to, this forumβs Posting Guidelines, which can be found here:
πΈ We are a very small Admin team for such a busy forum. Inevitably, the team will miss or not have time to read some comments and even whole posts. We therefore rely on members to also be vigilant and use the Report Button ( healthunlocked.com/thyroidu... ) whenever they see something that they feel is untoward. This will alert the Admin team, who will make a decision as to what, if any, action needs to be taken.
πΈ The decisions of the Admin Team are final and are not up for discussion. If you disagree with a decision or action taken by an Admin, you may PM any Admin for clarification. You may not make a public post or comment that questions, disapproves or disagrees with action taken by any Admin. Any potshots, snide remarks or flippant responses in regards to the Admin team and / or action taken by an Admin will also be removed.
Of course the Admin Team are also human, and therefore not perfect! But we really do try our best π

This forum is a godsend for people, like myself, who are struggling to understand what's going on with their thyroid etc. This should be the job of doctors and endocrinologists. If they were more competent, we wouldn't need this forum as much. But, thank God for you all and your constant support. π
This forum and all of its admins past and present saved my life and sanity when my thyroid started going wrong. I was educated on all matters thyroid here to the extent where I knew the right questions to ask an endocrinologist and also, more importantly, the answers I should have been getting and being able to argue my position from a point of authority that resulted in my treatment giving me my life back.
I thank you all from the bottom of my heart!β€οΈ
Truly one of the best moderated forums I ever had the privilege of reading. You may not have the official diplomas, but you are highly qualified in my eyes π
Your efforts are very much appreciated, so many people would be struggling with ill health without your help. Your knowledge is invaluable to all on this forum. Thank you so much for giving us your time.
Good Morning Thank you for allowing me to join the community. Thank you for helping us all.
I have been going to my gp for sometime with low thyroid symptoms but they say the blood test is normal. My mother had a parathyroid tumour removed in her forties and my brothers and mother have underactive thyroids and are taking medication. This is my thyroid blood test result. Does it look normal ?
I know that this forum, especially its admin team, saved me.
I now try to help others as there's so much need out there. I co-lead 2 FB thyroid groups ITT Improve Thyroid Treatment and Thyroid Support Group Norfolk, and these groups work with Thyroid UK and The Thyroid Trust on various projects to get straightforward access T3 nationally.
All power to TUK HU admins - you are all wonderful! Do you feedback to TUK itself on the current 'trends' of questions and issues on HU?
Hi Tara, You and your two FB groups do fantastic work too!
'Do you feedback to TUK itself on the current 'trends' of questions and issues on HU?'
The admin team have never been asked to do that, and if we were, we simply don't have the time to do it. However, Β lynmynott (CEO of TUK) is a member here, as is her assistant, so all at TUK have access to everything that's posted.
A Huge Thankyou from me too for giving your time so generously to answer so many requests for help!! You must have helped countless people to live a more healthy life with their thyroid conditions. I have learnt so much from you. Thankyou, Thankyou, Thankyou Admin team!!
Hail, Admins! Only just seen this. Our admin team is the absolute nuts! Without this forum -and TUK - it's my honest opinion that I'd be dead or in a wheelchair by now. A few years ago, HU Thyroid forum admins won the HU Admins of the year. Already, you are the admins of the decade for countless thyroidies, myself included. It's our good fortune to have you on our side. The karma train is coming for you, admins ππ€
