Hello. I want to ask, can the thyroid gland normalize with hyperthyroidism? I have been taking metromazole 5 ml for more than two years, I feel great, recently I tried to quit and not drink these pills for about a month, everything is coming back (I am monitoring anasoma). She started taking vitamin D daily. I read that Herb Pharm Dropper Bugleweed helps with such a diagnosis, but I did not try it.

Welcome to forum

Do you have Graves? Confirmed by positive TSI or TRab antibodies?

Anti thyroid is used to lower thyroid levels until the over activity resolves. This can take time, months / years but remission is a very good possibility. 5mg is a very low.

What are your function results? TSH, FT4 & FT3 & lab range.

Doctors often go by TSH but it’s the FT4 & FT3 which are more relevant in regard to symptoms. TSH can be unreliable after a time of being hyper.

The medication should be stopped once antibodies are low & levels are well managed & consistent low enough to stop.

Ive not tried bugleweed personally but herbal treatments tend to alleviate symptoms temporarily, not resolve the underlying condition.

Not sure what monitoring anasoma means?

Thank you for answering me. Yes, I do tests every three months. Two days ago, I also did an analysis of TSH 0.08, T4 and T3 were normal.

Hello Tashkent and welcome to the forum :

Yes - If the cause of your hyperthyroidism is Graves - the thyroid gland can reset itself without the need for any drugs -

pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/338...

We are looking at an AI disease however so recommend you read up around all things Graves through Elaine Moore's books and website - elaine-moore.com and there is a section on alternative and more holistic treatment options.

Elaine is based Stateside and also has a forum much like this one where you may well find more local support in your area regarding medical professionals in what is still a poorly understood and badly treated autoimmune health issue.

Hello! How good that there are such people!! Thank you for your message. I will definitely check out the site and the book. You need to study the disease and your body well in order to know how to behave.

I have hyperthyroidism and take carbimazole. I'm down to half or one 5mg tablet per day. Endocrinologist suggests lowest dose at 5mg every other day but I've heard that lower doses have been used to maintain. I hope to be off it or very minimal dosage by my one year which is July so I'll let you know how I get on.

Not what you're looking for?
