Hello everyone I recently posted on here about having a scan on a swollen thyroid and was advised to request my thyroid blood results. Just spoken to the GP receptionist who said they tested TSH and it was 1.36 and T4 was 19.9 and they were all normal. I have no idea about this so wondered if anyone could enlighten me please. From what little I have understood, I don’t think they have tested everything? Sorry if I’m rambling. The bloods were done in December about 11 oclock. Thanks I’m advance.
Blood results: Hello everyone I recently posted... - Thyroid UK
Blood results
So yes TSH and Ft4 look pretty good
you might want to reassure yourself by getting FULL testing including thyroid antibodies
For full Thyroid evaluation you need TSH, FT4 and FT3 tested
Also both TPO and TG thyroid antibodies tested at least once and important to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12
Low vitamin levels are extremely common with thyroid issues, especially with autoimmune thyroid disease
Lower vitamin levels more common as we get older too
Recommended that all thyroid blood tests early morning, ideally just before 9am, only drink water between waking and test
This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip)
Private tests are available as NHS currently rarely tests Ft3 or all relevant vitamins
Testing options and includes money off codes for private testing
