has anyone had any problems with mmh this week? I posted my bloods as normal Monday morning. Had a look Tuesday morning to see it had been received by the sorting office at Exeter about 04.00. I checked yesterday afternoon and it was still posted as being at the sorting office. I tried to check this morning but the system was not playing the game. I sent mmh an email, they replied thyroid bloods will be ok for 10 days but folate good for only 48 hr after the draw (which has now passed) I checked again and RM had put up a notice saying they had been asked not to deliver to that address today! So who is being naughty I don’t know. Mmh did say they would send another test out if anything was unusable, but it will mean yet another painful finger stick!😤

My samples were received but apparently there was not enough blood, which is just strange seeing as I followed their instructions precisely.

That’s a bit odd - did you find out from RM who gave the instruction not to deliver? They must have been told by someone.

I used MMH just last week, I posted the bloods off on a Monday morning and the results were back on the Wednesday

Yes, when I checked this afternoon, that was the notice they’d posted.

Just to let you know I sent a screenshot to MMH as they requested it. They said they may investigate with RM! MMH said they had received some mail today so they were puzzled 🤔 Perhaps it’s RM at their finest?😂 trouble is it could cost MMH if they need to send out further tests due to the blood being degraded. If mine does get delivered tomorrow it will be 4 days since it was drawn so the folate etc will not be able to be processed, plus it’s another painful finger prick!😤

I posted mine Monday, only got the notification they’d received it this morning. I was surprised I hadn’t had a notification yesterday. If folate degrades that quickly then mine was useless before they received it!

HbA1C result is done already, I’ve been obsessively checking the rest of them, but nothing else is done.

Yes, I can understand that, mine went Monday morning and landed at Exeter very early Tuesday morning so I was expecting a notification too. The length of time the blood is good for is what MMH said in one of their emails. Hopefully yours may be in their machines somewhere and you will eventually get your results 🤞

My folate is usually useless by the time it gets there - they refund me for that part - it’s something to do with it being a home fingerpick test rather than the time it takes to get there, that is with Medichecks though, not MMH.

Fruitandnutcase profile image

That is a long time. I suspect it is something ti do with RM. Medichecks say that using a finger prick test isn’t the best way to test folate so I don’t think it is entirely the fault of MMH - Medichecks warn you in advance and refund that part if they can’t test your folate.

Posted Wed last week did not arrive till Saturday and not possible to get b12/folate/ferritin etc. Wish I had tracked it.

I have paid extra in the past to have 24hr tracked and signed for (think it was just over £6) I always hand it in over the PO counter to get a receipt. I don’t know who is at fault this time? Leaning towards RM being naughty! Don’t know if I’ll ever find out?

Have a look on the RM website to see if there's a Priority Mail Box near you. royalmail.com/d8/search/pri...

The post office is nearest 😄

RedApple profile image

Priority mail boxes are better for blood tests though. 😊

HealthStarDust profile image

I don’t think priory mail boxes are a thing anymore.

RedApple profile image
RedAppleAdministrator in reply toHealthStarDust

Why do you say that? I have one within walking distance of my home and always use it for my blood tests. Might be a co-incidence but, so far, my tests have arrived at their destination next day.

HealthStarDust profile image
HealthStarDust in reply toRedApple

Because, the ones near me are not marked as such, and none are marked as priority nationally on the Royal Mail website.

And, I believe I read a while ago that they have been disbanded now that Covid has stabilised, which is what the priority post box were for.

You may be right. I just know that my local one is still in use.

I think you are right about the priority post boxes. I think collections happen when then happen! Some of the smaller post boxes haven’t even got collection times! I honestly feel the problem is with Exeter sorting and delivery offices. Why should a package received in the early hours of the morning (travelling couple hundred miles!) need another 24hrs to do the last few miles? I’ve not been offered a refund either, but it’s definitely the last time I use them. It can’t be just mine?

It's difficult isn't it. Neither you nor MMH are to blame. I doubt any other test provider would be compensating you beyond the second test kit either though. There are no guarantees with RM deliveries, unless you pay the extra cost for their Special delivery service. Some people do use their guaranteed next day special delivery for exactly this reason.

And I got a message this morning…….

07/03/2024: Error on order (Anaemia - FOLATE)

We are unable to produce a result on this sample as it has taken too long to get to the laboratory and is now not suitable for testing. As this is your first sample collection event using this order number, you will receive a replacement pack automatically free of charge.

Arghhh!

Morning Beads, I’ve just checked on RM tracker and mines been delivered this morning! Not had email from MMH yet to say they’ve received it. I’m hoping the thyroid bloods will be ok because I want to book an appointment with Roseway for some more T3. I know the folate etc will now be too degraded for testing so no doubt like you I’ve got the trauma of another finger prick (I’m a wimp!) how much more will cost MMH? Another pack sent out plus the cost of the returns! I think I may stick with Medichecks and pay the extra to go to my local hospital. Went with MMH as they had an offer on, Medichecks has offer on at the moment so I may order from them again, think you’ve got about 3 months in which to use it. Hope rest of your results are ok, I feel your pain 😂 take care

I just wanted to let you know I posted my 2nd sample yesterday afternoon at 12pm, and it is still showing at the Exeter office today at 8pm! I’m not hopeful.

Hello, I posted my second set Monday morning, got to Exeter early Tuesday but not delivered unto yesterday morning. Had email to say they couldn’t do the ferritin and folate but as it was the second set they wouldn’t send another! I know Royal Mail problems are beyond their remit but it wasn’t my fault either. I won’t be using them again. Hope you manage to get some results. Good luck with it 🙏

HealthStarDust profile image
HealthStarDust in reply toAuders

Well, I finally got some results. I feel they have lied about the insufficient sample, I definitely provided more than enough.

Some results they provided do not even make sense. For example, what is result of <300 for active B12?! That’s not even a result.

This is not monitoring. Absolutely awful service. And, they refuse to provide a refund. Stating it’s in their terms and conditions that may not be able to provide a result.

I’m so annoyed about it all!

Auders profile image
Auders in reply toHealthStarDust

I totally agree with you. I won’t be using them again I’m afraid. In all honesty I don’t feel I’ve got much faith in any of the latest results. I received an email yesterday to give me HB (dated 7/3), TSAT (dated 14/3) and HOLOTC (apparently it’s Active VitB 12, dated 8/3). My last active B12 was 98 (15/1) and had dropped to 56 (8/3). I’m wondering if they are popular and the extra work is proving too much for the lab? So did they ask RM not to deliver all their post? But that’s 2 lots that I’ve sent not been delivered in a timely manner. I ordered my next one from Medichecks whilst it was on offer, I can get the bloods done at my local nhs hospital. I’ve used Blue Horizon once but there are no Superdrugs or clinics near me. Good luck in the future and let me know how you get on 🙏 x

HealthStarDust in reply toAuders

That’s interesting. I didn’t actually get the B12 result just that it over 300 when I asked for an explanation. Whatever that means!

I think call the bank and ask for a charge back as I will be. It’s obvious something beyond the Royal Mail delivery is going on here. And, given they had a recent discount they probably ended up with too many orders than they know what to do with. When I called the lab and they shared they have many to process that’s certainly the impression I got.

I was only using them as their thyroid results compared closely to the ones arranged by GP.
