Monitor my health..trustworthy??

Hi all,

I am currently on 125 Levo and may need an increase. I am short of money but managed a 'monitor my health' skin prick test, with discount code, in January, which came back failed.

I do struggle with blood tests, have been warned to get blood tests done at local hospital due to deep difficult veins - experiencing bruising when going to various local pharmacist phlebotomists'.

I enjoyed and really appreciated the recent post about finger prick tests and it gave me confidence to try the second trial MMH offered. They sent two kits after the first failed, I assumed they did that in case I struggled with test, although they were not packaged as carefully as the initial test. I hydrated day before, got up hydrated with water, got woolly hat, scarf n warm clothes on and did some on the spot running for a couple of mins before test. Success!! There was ample to fill both tiny capsules. I sent test off that day, a Monday, but the next day MMH queried the test saying the tube did not match paperwork?? I took all from the one kit. I emailed to state that. Heard nothing back, then on the Friday they said test failed. I would have to pay for further test!

I find that very hard to believe, there was plenty of fluid. I believe they messed up their end and wanted to sweep under carpet..... I have emailed to suggest it was maybe a mistake on their part. I have not heard back as yet. There is no telephone number to contact them. Gutted!! What can I do?

In the meantime I had a morning sickness followed by diarrhoea for week. My stomach still not right. There are plenty of viruses going round but didn't think it should last that long and wondered if it was anything to do with Levo. I was taking 5 x 5 levo, as hadnt picked up latest prescription of 100 plus 25 Levo. Could that have made a difference, think I saw a post about this recently but cant find.

Thank you all for posts and advice, I am constantly picking up golden nuggets of knowledge applicable to my situation.

Love to all xxxx

Hmm. I think they’re ok (though I’m still waiting results from my most recent test with them and have had to chase it).

I wonder if they’ve become victims of their own success and just don’t have enough staff at the moment? They’re an NHS lab, which some people have been pointing out to their GP’s to emphasise the credibility of private testing.

Wonder if they’ve been affected (directly or indirectly) by strike action recently?

Thanks for replying, I think you could be on the right track!! I checked back and I've had failed tests from Thriva in the past too. I haven't had a response from MMH as yet! Hope you get your results soon. xx

I have found Monitor My Health to be the most stable and reliable blood testing service in terms of results.

I have in the past done simultaneous blood collections for MMH and MC (medi-checks) finger prick test on same day and time

Medichecks has come back 'failed haemolyzed' and MMH all good.

I've never waited longer than 2 days for a MMH test result and never experienced a failure. MC and Blue Horizon I have experienced failed tests. MC once three in a row.

However the downside with MMH is that for some strange, unexplained reason, I never get the initial kit delivered in less than 2 weeks, despite living in zone 2 London and sometimes I've waited a month or more. The reason is inexplicable. They have no answer.

MC and BH always receive the kits within a couple days.

MMH as Jazzw says perhaps have grown in popularity leading to quality issues maybe.

Thanks for replying. Yes it does seem a possibility. I'm not sure who to go to now, if I can scrape the pennies together! I'll leave it a bit longer and see if they respond, but wont hold my breath! xxx

how disappointing! I thought they sent a replacement test if they couldn’t analyse the one you sent.

I’d ask what they meant by ‘paperwork didn’t match’. Did you remember to fill in the little slip with the date etc to include with the test?

Hi

Yes followed all instructions, but did notice the first kit sent was enclosed in a box. Then they sent 2 kits as replacement but they were just loose in the package. I email them but no reponse as yet...... just means I'm left hanging again, with no results........

Thanks for replying xx
