my recent blood tests TSH 0.01 (0.27-4.20) since adding T3 my TSH has been low. T-4 is 7.2. Range (4.6-12.0). T3 79. Range (80-200. My thyroid medication is T-4 112 mcg. My T3 medication is 25 mcg liothorine. My dr. raised my T3 meds to 25 + 12.5 or half of 25 mcg. I took that dose for 2 days and had tachycardia She told me to stop. Yet my T3 is low. I decided to cut the 12.5 in half again. Yhis dosage gives me no side affects. I think she raised it too much at once. Sh doesn’t seem to know that there are 5mcg. tablets. I hope am doing the right thing because she seemed to think if I didn’t take half of the 25 mcg. of T3 I wouldnt get any benefit from 1/4 pill. Is she correct?

My thyroid medication is T-4 112 mcg. My T3 medication is 25 mcg liothorine
Are you normally splitting the T3 as 2 or 3 smaller doses spread through the day
Recommended that all thyroid blood tests early morning, ideally just before 9am, only drink water between waking and test and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test
This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip)
T3 ….day before test split T3 as 2 or 3 smaller doses spread through the day, with last dose approximately 8-12 hours before test
I decided to cut the 12.5 in half again. Yhis dosage gives me no side affects.
I think she raised it too much at once.
yes quite likely to big an increase
Retest correctly 6-8 weeks after changing dose
