Does anything (without artifical sweetners) help a dry mouth

I've had a dry mouth since before Aug 22 - I was diagnosed (under protest) with subclinical hypothyroidism in Nov 23

I hate it -at night my tongue sticks to my teeth and I now have Ulcers

I was on 25 levo and this particularly bad episode of dry mouth coincided with an increase to 50 - is it connected?

What can I suck?

Dry mouth can be a symptom of hypothyroidism. See this page from the Thyroid UK website which lists possible symptoms.

Hopefully this should improve as you increase your dose of levo.

Kinda hoping for something overnight

But yes, yummy fruit pastilles are good too

Oh, over-night. Best not go to sleep sucking a sherbert lemon! lol I don't know of anything that would work over-night. But, in the evening, I always have a glass of lime cordial in water, and that helps enormously.

I’ve had trouble with ulcers/ dry mouth and an aromatherapist recommended ‘pulling’ with organic coconut oil. This really helped me and I use periodically if I have any recurring issues with oral health.

Eek! I'm allergic to coconut so I won't try that!

But I'm sure it will help someone

I get dry mouth. If I wake up with a dry mouth I sit up for five minutes and it resolves but of course if you have to get up in the morning that's not so helpful.I've never been able to find the underlying cause.

Everything kind of rips apart as I start waking and moving; I def stay in bed a few extra min (occasionally hours)

This page lists the products the NHS approves of :

I think they can all be bought without prescription. As to whether they include artificial sweeteners, I don't know, you'll have to check before buying.

Oo thanks, they nearly all have the ingredients on the clicky link on that pages

Pretty much they are packed with sweetners - mainly stevia and xytol - I know stevie is technically natural but it does the same as the others!

Saliviz doesn't overtly have them, but I tried them and they didn't help

There are a lot of things unsuitable for sweetner I tolerant people out there, from drinks to medicines by way of chocolate!

During the day I'd like nonsugar free gum....no chance!

Non-sugar free gum is no longer available? That is a huge surprise, particularly since so many sugar-free products give people diarrhoea!

Perhaps you can buy it online?

I've looked it's all xytol (or however you spell it) & stevia

I did find one from america but its expensive

Maybe bubble gum instead of chewing gum? Here's an example that doesn't have artificial sweeteners, just old fashioned sugar! There may be others :) amazon.co.uk/Wrigleys-Hubba...
