Progesterone levels in hypothyroid taking T3&T4

Hi,

Current levels:

T3: 5.9 (3.7-6)

TSH: <0.02 (0.35-5.5)

T4: 6.6 (7.86-14.41)

Progesterone: 1.4 (>30) luteal phase

just wondered if thyroid has anything to do with progesterone levels? I’m 42 & would like another baby but just doesn’t seem possible with these levels). Without using pessaries my period arrives in 15 days, 2 days after ovulation. I’m definitely not menopausal. Anyone got any similar experience?

Also dr wants to increase levo from 50 to 75 (T3 20/20/10 a day); she has not run this by the endo - what implication is this going to have on my body? Feel a bit fobbed off by the dr as I went because of periods/severely hormonal) and ended up with ‘it happens when you get older’ & increase in levo. 🥺

Just feel like I don’t know where to turn 😓

Thank you x

Have you tried increasing levo before or are you stable on this compbination and feeling well otherwise? Why does she want to increase levo? I presume for you to be just in range which frankly is not necessary at all if you feel well.

Progesterone is generally supportive of thyroid function but your level seems low. You also need to look how it balances with other hormones and possibly you could do with supplementing with P to increase it. If you are on FB there are some good groups specialising in progesterone.
